7mononoke’s Questions
What is your favorite color and is there any particular reason why?
My favorite color is purple. I don’t really think there is a reason for it. Purple has been my favorite color for as long as I can remember. Although my favorite crayon color is cerulean. Again, I’m not really sure why, but I always find myself reaching for it anytime I color with the kids.
Do you have a favorite kind of wild plant, tree, or flower?
My favorite kind of tree is hands down a cherry blossom tree. They are absolutely stunning and lets be honest, they smell great too. In fact, my next tattoo that I am getting is a cherry blossom tree. It is going to be my “family” tree.
Have you taken a Myers-Briggs test before, and if so what type are you?
I actually had to take the test in one of my college courses. I am not 100% certain as to which I am as it has been so long since I have taken the test. I mean that was roughly seven or eight years ago. However, if my memory serves me correctly i was INFP. I could probably go find my paper that has my results, but I’m in the process of moving so I’m not entirely sure where all my school papers are at this current time.
What is one of your fondest or most memorable childhood memories?
That is so hard, as I have a lot of really good childhood memories. My family used to do a lot of things together. The one that first comes to my mind is a time we went out to my aunt’s for the Fourth of July. It was certainly memorable. When you’re a kid supervised by a bunch of drunk adults things tend to get a little crazy. My brother had a bottle rocket and set my parents’ tent on fire. My cousins were down at the creek trying to blow up snakes with their firecrackers. My uncle who was also intoxicated, him and my dad started trying to shoot each other with bb guns. Needless to say, my uncle had to take a trip to the hospital with a bb stuck in his arm. He also ended up coming back with the bb still in his arm because he was in the ER for 3 hours and the doctors still hadn’t shown up, so he just left. It was very eventful. My family is definitely a little on the crazy side. We certainly are not normal.
What is a scent that you like? It could be a food-related scent, anything floral, or something like the smell of cut grass, pencils, or books.
Hmm….this is a tough one. A scent that I like. I definitely like the smell of books. There is just nothing like the smell of the ink on the pages. Besides, the only way I can truly enjoy a book is if I have a physical copy in my hands and I can flip the pages. But this is about scent…..yeah books were the first thing I thought about.
What is your current favorite anime or your current favorite book?
My favorite anime is Yu Yu Hakusho. It has been my all time favorite since like junior high school. I remember watching it with my brother everyday on Toonami. I don’t really know why it is my favorite, but I always find myself reaching for it when I want to watch something. Maybe it is just because I had a school girl crush on one of the characters who knows maybe it is just because it is nostalgic for me.
I also truly enjoy the Danganronpa series. The video games and all the story line and the concept was absolutely amazing. I have always been interested in murder mysteries so this was right up my alley from the start.
Assassination Classroom is also pretty amazing. It has the lessons learned factor that I thoroughly enjoy. The characters are amazing. I find myself laughing ridiculously loud at almost every single episode. It is also just a fun and original concept.
It is apparently very difficult to just pick one anime. There are so many anime and I love them all for completely different reasons. I didn’t realize just how hard it was to pick a single anime, until right now. So, I guess I just gave you my top 3. My bad.
Do you like adventure outdoors, like occasional camping or light hiking?
I love anything outdoors. I don’t get to enjoy it as much as I would like to, but with four kids, it becomes very difficult to manage them as well as enjoy the time outdoors. I would say I am an adventure outdoors person stuck on the schedule of an occasional camping trip. In my opinion, it is the little things in life that bring the most joy and excitement. I can sit outside and just watch and listen to the birds and be perfectly content. I can go out to a pond or lake and just be happy watching the turtles or frogs. There is just so much that nature has to offer and it is very relaxing to be able to enjoy the sounds.
Do you have a psych or a developmental disorder, and has it affected your life? (No need to reveal what it is unless you’re comfortable.)
I have personally been dealing with anxiety since I was about sixteen. That was the first time I had a panic attack in my bedroom. I always knew it would become an issue, as most of my family also has these issues. However, it just seems to get worse as the years go on. I find it very difficult to leave my house and go do things because that is where people are and it sparks my anxiety being in a crowded place. The grocery store is even hell for me. When it rains or is dark I can’t drive the car because it sparks my anxiety. I also have been dealing with depression for the better part of three years…..
What kind of insect or arachnid scares you or annoys you the most?
All of them. Period. End of Story. No, for some reason I have this deathly fear of all bugs and arachnids. It has been that way as long as I can remember.
What is your favorite OST from an an anime or other TV series?
This is a very difficult question. One I am not really sure I have thought about. I really enjoy the Boys Over Flowers soundtrack, but I am not sure if I could pin it as my favorite. So, I guess for this one I don’t really have an answer. Sorry. I’ll start thinking even harder about it.
What are you most grateful for? You can mention several if needed.
I am grateful for my mother. She got cancer when I was in the third grade and was give a 15% chance of survival with stage 4 cervical cancer. Somehow, she beat the odds and she is still here. I know for a fact I wouldn’t be standing here today without her. She has helped me through everything I have ever went through. When I was pregnant with my daughter, she was there to help me take care of her so I could go to school to make myself a better person. There were times when she was sick that she worked two or three jobs to take care of my brother and me. I wouldn’t trade her for the world and I thank the heavens every day that she was able to overcome the odds that were stacked against her. It only proves how much of a Wonder Woman my mother is and I will forever be grateful for how much my mother has sacrificed to ensure my brother and I were safe and secure.
Thanks for your answers! Feel free to tag any of your other followers if you want to keep the nominations going. Based on your answers, it sounds like we really have some things in common, at least in personality. (I don’t have kids, and my family growing up was very conservative and withdrawn, haha.) But like you, I love the smell of books and the ink on the pages. I was an INFP for years, though I think I’ve moved to the dark side by now lol and become an INTP. I love the outdoors and nature. Yuu Yuu Hakosho is a classic anime, good choice! I’m glad to know a fellow Danganronpa fan, too. I really enjoyed that series and I never even played the games it was based on. Anyway, I hope you had fun with this. 🙂
