I’m Back!

Well, that was certainly an adventure. I never thought moving could possibly be that exhausting especially when I had movers to pack up and haul all my stuff for me. I will say I learned a lot of lessons on this move. First and foremost, don’t EVER try to get things done with children around. The two just don’t mix. Second, the amount of dirt and debris that accumulates in places you would never expect is atrocious. Third, cleaning an empty house is just as exhausting as cleaning a full one. Finally, I have learned I never ever, EVER want to move again. There is just too much that goes into it, and it was WAY too stressful for me.

We had movers in and out all day for two days which resulted in my son trying to escape out the door every two seconds. Then of course, once the crib was taken apart, nap time became a nightmare. What would normally take five minutes quickly turned into an hour of alligator wrestling and eye gouging.

Then after the movers got everything out, I still had to go through and clean the floors and appliances that were staying. Which I must say as someone who cleans religiously, I don’t know how it was so bad. There were nooks and crannies of the house that I never even knew existed and it certainly showed.

If I would have just been moving across town instead of across states, it probably would have been a heck of a lot easier. Hey, I made it back to my home state alive though. I may have only shortened my life by a few years. It wasn’t the worst move, and overall things didn’t go THAT badly. However, doesn’t mean it was any less exhausted.

I guess what I am trying to say is I am back to writing. At least for now. My husband and I are currently in limbo. We don’t have the old house but we don’t have our new one yet either. We are staying with family until we close on our house which will be in roughly two weeks. So, at the end of the month we will be in the new house then I am sure I will need a couple days to get everyone settled in there. If I do disappear again, that is probably why. Although, I will try my best to continue to write. Just have a little longer to go. Thank you to everyone for being super patient with me and giving me the chance to get over the learning curves and everything!

I’ll see you guys in the next one!!!
