One More Time Review

One More Time is a short series about a boy named Tan Yoo who is a struggling musician. The story begins with Tan confessing his love to his girlfriend, Da-in Moon. With a brief introduction to their relationship, the series moved 7 years into the future. Tan and his band, One More Time are performing at a festival, when they are booed off the stage. This causes Tan to lose his cool and he gets into a fight with Da-in. The next day, October 4th, Tan gets an eviction notice, is roughed around by loan sharks, and gets a call from KG Entertainment. He is given the opportunity to make it big time. However, he must break up with his girlfriend. After initial rejection, Tan ends up taking the deal with KG Entertainment. After breaking up with Da-in, Tan goes to a party where he drinks himself into oblivion. It is after that everything takes a turn. He falls into a pond and essentially drowns.

Tan then wakes up the next morning and restarts his day. Literally. It is October 4th again and he gets the sense of deja vu and begins to go crazy because the day consistently repeats over and over again. The rest of the series consists of Tan trying to figure out why he is reliving the same day time and time again. One More Time is a story about the struggles of love and life, as well as learning to cope with loss and pain, while learning what is important in life.

Now, I don’t want to spoil too much of this series, as truly it is amazing and suggest watching it if you enjoy dramas. At the same time, I do NOT recommend watching it. The story is amazing and it truly is fantastic, but I don’t think I have ever cried as much watching a show as I have with this one. I don’t think my eyes were dry in a single episode. Everything about this series was great. The music was right up my alley. It was well done. The story I felt was advancing at a great pace. There was never a dull moment, even when Tan is reliving the same day over and over again. Then of course, the impact of the series was great. Like I said, I don’t think I had dry eyes in a single episode.

There are very serious and deep moments throughout the whole show. Maybe that is why I like it as much as I do. I was different than the other dramas I have watched. Most are very lighthearted, cute, and funny. I also seem to like this series because it doesn’t just focus on the happiness of a relationship, but also shows the struggles that come with it. One More Time delves deep into the darkness of the mind. I will say that suicide is a topic in this series, and there is quite a bit of death. So if you are uncomfortable with those darker subject, this probably isn’t for you.

Unfortunately there is not really much more that I can say about One More Time. Not without ruining so much of the story line, and I feel that a lot of the emotion comes from not know what is going to happen next, Overall, I am going to have to leave everyone guessing on this series. It is truly worth watching. The series is only 8 half hour episodes, so it is a quick watch.

I am sorry this review is so short. As I was writing, I kept realizing that what I was typing was spoiling things, so I had to edit out a lot of the original. One More Time deserves the highest ranking it can get so with that being said….

If you have watched One More Time, I’d like to hear your thoughts and opinions about it. I only wish that I could see what happens after the conclusion of the story. Until next time guys, thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I appreciate every one of you!!
